Inaugural season 2023-24
Seattle Red Hawks Girls Hockey
Seattle Junior Hockey Association and the Western Washington Female Hockey Association are pleased to announce a new girls rep hockey program, the Seattle Red Hawks. This program builds on the strength and experience of both associations to provide the best competitive girls rep hockey program in Washington state.
Local Competition and Development Focus: Our program is committed to playing teams locally in competitive league play with focused cross country trips. We want to maximize the development and competitive play for our players and save our families time and cost on travel.
Increased ice time: The Seattle Red Hawks teams will be on the ice three times a week for practice for 1.25 hour slots. This will bring better balance between development and game time. We expect the investment of ice time into our players to pay off long term with their hockey IQ and skill development.
Competitive Rep Teams (Committed players wanting to take it to the next level): The Red Hawks U13, U15, and U18 rep teams require a high level of commitment. All teams have mandatory practice and travel expectations set by coaches and outlined during tryout weekends. Offseason training and off-ice training will be expected from all players.
The U13, U15, and U18 age groupings reflect Canada's league play in the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association, which is the international league the Seattle Red Hawks compete in for their weekend games. They are equivalent to 12U, 14U, and 16/19U for USA Hockey.
Support for Recreation Teams: Our program works with Seattle Junior and Everett Youth Hockey to support girls' beginners and 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U Girls' Rec teams. These teams do not have tryouts and signups are first come first served.
Seattle Junior and WWFHA now offer a place for players 6U to 19U to play at any level of competition. Our ability to provide all levels of hockey ensures the capability of properly placing players at appropriate levels which will strengthen our teams from top to bottom.
